Description of St. John's walnuts:
St. John's walnuts is a delicacy made of walnuts according to an original 100-year old recipe. Still green (unripe) walnuts are harvested during the period around St. John’s Day (June 24), when the nutshell is not yet fully developed. As a result, the whole nuts (including the shell and peel) can be put into a delicious, spicy sugar syrup. In addition to the excellent taste, walnuts are known for their beneficial effects on the human organism.
What St. John's walnuts complement best:
thinly sliced, taste best in combination with fresh cream cheese and pâté. They also go great with game, as well as in salads and desserts.
